ABOUT MY FAMILY
My son, Brian, 23 and living home with me, is still trying to find his career path. For many years he worked as an EMT, but recently he decided to try something different. He currently works in Customer Service with Key Bank. We have a wonderful relationship and I'm proud of my son. I know one day, he will find his niche in life.
ABOUT MYSELF
I got married 1983. My son, Brian (BJ) was born in 1985. I got divorced in 1992 and raised my son by myself.

I'm a 911 Emergency Dispatcher with Emergency Medical Dispatch certification for Columbia County (hence the email address....the 1174 is my dispatcher ID). We dispatch Fire, Medical, & Police emergencies. I've been in this profession since May of 1995. Prior to that I was a secretary at the Columbia County District Attorney's office for 3 years. For 6 years I was an EMT with Greenport Rescue Squad (this is how my son became interested). Right now I am no longer involved in EMS in that capacity, but it still is an interest.

After working 10 years on the graveyard shift, in August of 2006 I finally started working the day shift. I recently became involved with training new dispatchers as our center is growing.

I purchased land on Dahlgren Road in 2001 and put a house on it in 2002. I love the location. The same year I got a chocolate lab from Scott Longe and named her Molly. She's absolutely beautiful and a spoiled brat! In November of 2005 I adopted a yellow lab from a lab rescue group (www.labs4rescue.com) out of Connecticut. They rescue labrador retrievers who are either in shelters or are not wanted for some reason or another. His name is Dutch but I call him Bubby or Booba La. (Dutch actually came from Tennessee. I'm told that people in the south do not appreciate Labrador Retrievers like we do up north. He had been living in a 10'x10' kennel with very little human contact other than to be fed for the 2 years prior to me adopting him.) He is beautiful and acts like a big (90 lb) puppy! Molly LOVES him! He's been such a loving addition to our little family.

Although I'm not a carpenter, with the help of my youngest sister, I built a shed and put 2 decks on my house. In the warmer weather I enjoy working out in the yard.

I enjoy simple web designing for fun - I'm the web "mistress" for this website. Since becoming involved with the reunion planning, I have renewed old friendships and found new ones. This is a great group of people who know how to have fun!

My main passion these days is genealogy! If only I was this interested in history in school! I've learned more about the colonial times, civil war days and the revolutionary war since I started looking up my ancestors about a year ago. I found that I'm descended from an actual Mayflower passenger - one of the most famous, John Alden.
