Graduated from RPI in December 1982 Married in January 1983 and moved to Raleigh, NC Entered graduate school at NCSU: science education First child born in 1984 Began teaching in 1986 Second child born in 1988, third in 1990 Stay at home mom - 1988 trough 1996 Returned to teaching - I teach all levels of chemistry. I love teaching teenagers and I love chemistry! I received my National Board Certification this year and was voted Green Hope High School's "Teacher of the Year" Divorced in 2003 - this event precipitated a lot of personal reflection and has propelled me in new directions. I am applying to grad school again for a degree in school administration. Hopefully I will begin this fall. I know I'm crazy - a single, working mom and 2 years of night school and a one year internship? My interests mainly revolve around church and children's activities, but I am still playing soccer. I have played since I was a freshman in college. I love the sport and am thankful that the wonderful NC weather lets me play spring, summer, and fall seasons. Sometimes I will even play indoor. |
