UPDATE July 2008
My son-in-law was promoted to Captain last September 07 and we are very proud of him!! How lucky did my daughter get: a man that is good-looking, smart, ambitious, good-sense of humor, good Dad, down-to-earth, thoughtful, good manners, comes from a good family, not in that order of course. The only thing is he couldn't cook when they got married but Brittany is working on that and now he can make the best pancakes in town!!! Thank God my daughter learned from my mistakes in choosing men!!! What we all wish for, that our kids learn from our mistakes, yeah!
UPDATE August 2008
We have a new hurdle. Butchie, my significant other has been stricken with M.S. He was diagnosed over 2 years ago at the age of 52 of all things. The neurologist has been concerned about how fast it is progressing and recently recommended treating it aggressively with chemotherapy. I had never heard of chemo as a treatment for M.S. but apparently it is a new and mostly successful treatment for aggressive M.S. and for some Lupus patients. Butch's sister, a nurse for an Oncologist in St. Peter's Hospital said that a year ago a woman patient with M.S. came in for chemo treatment and she was not able to walk and in a wheelchair. Now a year later, she is walking and the M.S. is in remission! So maybe we will have the same luck! Butch isn't in a wheelchair but has many difficulties. He has only had 2 treatments now but we are hopeful. If anyone out there has any stories of people they know with M.S. (hopefully no one has it) please feel free to email me. I would love to hear either good or bad. I don't have any other experiences than the one I am in and it would help me and possibly Butchie, too!

On a happier note....

Hurray! Stop the presses, we have a new addition to the Clan or Tribe! Yes, little Brady Buchanan has arrived on 6/10/08. Brady, my new grandson was born 9lbs 5-1/2oz 21" long. He was a big one!! A big, bouncing baby boy just as cute as can be! He seems to be very laid-back and an easy-keeper thank heavens as Garrity is a very active almost 2 year old! She, like so many of us older sisters, loves her little brother to death and a times a little too much. But she will be the loving and at times over-bearing big sister some of were, I am sure, to our little brothers. I know I was, sorry brothers! Brady doesn't seem to mind now. He puts up with Garrity putting 3 blankets on him and dressing him up with present bows on his head and those dozens of kisses without a whimper! Ha! Ha! He seems to know that he was put on this earth for lovins! And he would be right! We are so fortunate and blessed to have these grandchildren!

UPDATE DECEMBER 2006
Update: I have a new granddaughter who was born on Oct. 10, 2006. She was 8lbs. 6oz. Garrity Jane Buchanan. So now I have joined the proud club of Grandparents, yeah!

2006
ABOUT MYSELF and MY FAMILY
I have one lovely daughter, Brittany (born 12/29/80). She graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY in 2003 and she got married on 5/28/05. Her husband graduated from the Merchant Marine College and then joined the Air Force. He is now an officer and works as a Navigator. They live in Omaha, NE. He will be sent off to the war in April of 2006, but he will be home for the birth of the baby in October 2006.

After a failed marriage I got the best part of the deal, my daughter, Brittany who was born 12/29/80. I went back to college and finished my degree in Elementary Education, did some substituting and started working on my Masters Degree. I never did get a job teaching, so I went to work for different companies over the years while raising my daughter. I remarried and another one bit the dust. I just have a great record of marrying losers!

I am presently living with Butch Mink in Stuyvesant, NY. We have been together for 14 years. We have traveled to Nova Scotia on the Harley. We have traveled all over the Northeast. We have gone down to Daytona Bike Week. We have gone to Laconia Bike Week in New Hampshire several times (highly recommended). We even rode out to Sturgis, SD for the International Bike Week, oh and we did ride back, too. That is alot of miles on a bike! That was great! I hope to go again.

We also rode out to the 100th Anniversary Party for Harley Davidson in Milwaukee, WI. We hope to ride out to Sturgis again, see the Grand Canyon, the Pacific Highway 1 and ride through a Sequoia tree. We have a Road King that is purple and we call it the Barney-mobile!

I can't wait to see my new grandchild! I know I'm not the first from our class to be a grandparent, but really...are we old enough to be grandparents yet? It just doesn't seem to have been that long ago that we were graduating high school.

We built a new house with a wonderful view and a wrap-around deck. We love to watch the spectacular sunsets over the Catskills and watch the deer and turkeys. We've counted as many as 80+ deer in our field that the deck overlooks!

We love to have company and if anyone would like to drop by, email me and I'll give you directions.
